Hothouse installed
We have finished our first hothouse. As we are currently a small establishment a 4 x 8m grow tunnel is all we need. This will assist us in propagating many unusual species from cuttings as well as allowing us to start producing many 'general line' species of Callistemons, Melaleuca's, Grevilleas and grafted Brachychitons from our ever expanding collection of stock plants.
Potting Bench installed
Many a nursery worker has a bad back. It was an important need to have a potting bench that eliminated the need to shovel propagation mix and thus cause double handling and unnecessary muscular strain. We created a hybridised potting media storage platform that allows the worker to pot from the same level, simply scraping the media forward as required. It stands 1.2m at the bench with containment walls left and right. The truck simply backs up to it and pours the mix out at the same level as its tyres. The pad was built on the edge of a small embankment to cater for the standing height required on the lower side. Now there is no obstacle to getting work achieved !
